We were honoured to collaborate with Allen Jack+Cottier on revitalising the former Wrigley’s warehouse building, transforming it into the sustainable Burcham Apartments. Our contribution focused on three key areas: the Wrigley’s Commons communal garden, the rooftop pergola area, and the open-air cinema seating.

Using Spotted Gum timber, we created multi-use asymmetrical benches that doubled as geometric plant beds for the thriving flora in the gardens. The botanical garden is in the communal outdoor area based in the centre of the complex.

The timber seating formations work beautifully to create a harmonious urban space with the greenery of the surrounding foliage. The contrasting elements exemplify the natural tones.

Our #1Decks team also completed the decking, tiling, and timberwork for the stunning rooftop pergola. Utilising the Outdure QWICKBUILD®️ Aluminium Subframe, we created a space that will be admired for years.

The Outdoor Cinema curved bench seat design by Jamie Duri was a highlight of our work. We used marine-grade plywood to form the shape, protected the edges with G-Tape, and used 40mm Spotted Gum slats for their superior curve adaptation.

We are proud to have been a part of this beautiful project. The architecture firm’s distinctive design for the new Burcham Apartments in Crewe Place has won several awards, including the Sustainability Awards 2018 and Best Interior Architecture 2018.
