We have been delivering some stunning timber and composite decking projects in recent times and thought we’d take the opportunity to showcase these beautiful decks, built for our Sydney NSW clients.
Design Inspiration from Jamie Duri
We will never ever get tired of looking at this fantastic rooftop deck for The Burcham Apartments in Sydney.
The design was by Allen Jack + Cottier and the legendary Jamie Duri, with landscapes by O Landscapes and a quality build and install by our very own #1 Decks team.
The creative, flowing rooftop deck was made in timber hardwood and supported by QwickBuild for membrane protection. A pergola was also integrated into the design.
We are super proud of this project as it demonstrates the level of workmanship that our team is capable of.
Mosman Makeover: Silver Composite with Blackbutt Screen
This gorgeous Mosman property had a #1 Decks pool makeover – with a poolside friendly Millboard composite in Grey. Composites are a very popular choice with wet areas as they are unaffected by moisture.
The grey or silver decking look is a big trend at the moment with many Sydney owners adopting this look – which is achievable with both timber and composite products.
A great feature of this project was the addition of a timber Blackbutt Screen along the fence line, which has added texture, warmth and colour for a striking look.
Floating Poolside Deck in North Bondi
The screening was achieved using Millboard in ‘Coppered Oak & Cedar’ in size 40mm. This was combined with a bench which doubled as a pool filter cover and the screening used to make an outdoor shower.
Although the cedar looks great now, it will age beautifully as it starts to silver off. You can maintain its natural colour with regular maintenance although we opted to let this job silver off – so in time it will contrast even more beautifully than it does in these pictures.
Adding contrast with Spotted Gum
Here our Sydney homeowner combined Spotted Gum 140×25 and then we oiled with Cutek extreme. We love the contrast between the reddish brown tones of the timber and the bluestone pavers on the back entertaining area and pool coping.
